About Sam Wilson

Sam Wilson won Novel Idea‘s first mobile fiction competition for his story “Prestige Animals”, making him “South Africa’s first award-winning mobilist” in 2008. In 2011 the Mail and Guardian declared him one of South Africa’s Top 200 Young People for his complete inability to just sit down and do one thing.

He was an integral part of the legendary scriptwriting team at Clockwork Zoo, and is currently working as a writer and director at Sunrise Productions.

His first novel “Commedia” is a wild romp set during the collapse of the Roman Empire. It earned him an MA with distinction from the University of Cape Town.

His second novel “Zodiac” was picked up by Michael Joseph, an imprint of Penguin Random House. It will be published in the UK on 25 August 2016, and in the USA, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Turkey shortly thereafter.
